  • Grinder
  • Hot water (about 94 – 95 degrees)

A thinner filter and coarser grind means that the French Press provides the fullest bodied cup of coffee. It’s traditional, reliable, and easy to make.

1. Weigh out 15 grams of delicious coffee

2. Grind the coffee to a coarse grind size – most likely the coarsest setting on your grinder.

3. Gently pour 250ml of water into the French Press. We use a water:coffee ratio of 16.6:1 – so the amount of coffee and water you use will vary depending on the size of your French Press.

4. Fresh coffee should always have a marvellous ‘bloom’ – where it bubbles up and the water starts to extract the flavour & release CO2. Once you’ve finished pouring place the top of the French Press on – but very lightly.

5. After 5 minutes, gently but firmly depress the plunger all the way to the bottom.

6. Pour straight away – the coffee will continue to extract at the bottom, so just get it in the cup and enjoy.
